A baby elephant takes a step. This gravy boat is sculpted from red stoneware and covered with a striking glaze. The interior features kintsugi elements. Kintsugi is an ancient Japanese technique for restoring ceramics using gold lacquer called urushi. Raku ceramics and porcelain were incredibly valuable, so Japanese artisans developed this method to not only preserve the piece for centuries but also to transform it into a true work of art.

I consulted a kintsugi master to add a special touch to my golden elephant.

The specific feature of urushi lacquerware is that it cannot be used with foods hotter than 80 degrees Celsius. It is not microwaveable or dishwasher safe.

Capacity: 65 ml.
Height: 8.5 cm.
Width: 8 cm.
