Desk lamp Mimir
Mimir is one of the most mysterious characters in Norse mythology. According to one interpretation, he was a Jotun who lived among the Aesir. Mimir was remarkably intelligent and wise; he was the guardian of the Well of Wisdom, which lay at the roots of the World Tree, Yggdrasil. By drinking from this well, one could gain infinite wisdom. However, Mimir exacted a high price for access to the well. Even Odin himself had to sacrifice his right eye in exchange for a single sip.

Mimir was not an Aesir, but he fought on their side during the "First War" against the Vanir. After peace was made between the Aesir and Vanir, Mimir, along with Odin's brother, Honir, was sent to Vanaheim as a hostage and guarantor of the peace treaty. Honir was supposed to become a good leader, according to the assurances of the Aesir.

However, the Vanir curiously observed the agreement. Seeing that Honir leaned heavily on Mimir in all matters, they felt deceived. They beheaded Mimir and sent his head to Odin in Asgard. Despite this blatant act of aggression, Odin did not start a new war.

Instead, he embalmed Mimir's head, turning it into a powerful artifact with unique properties. It became Odin's chief advisor. Whenever the Allfather was in doubt, he sought counsel from the wise head.

My Mimir's head is a ceramic desk lamp sculpted from dark red stone mass with added chamotte. It is covered with a combination of effect glazes. On the lamp's back, runes are carved, creating a beautiful effect when illuminated. The runes are chosen compositionally and do not form a runic phrase. The lamp hardware is also hand-sculpted. The lamp is a unique piece and will not have any copies. It measures 280mm in height, 240mm in width, 230mm in length.
